María Fernanda Reyes wins bronze at the Longboard World Championship

The Peruvian surfer shined on the waves of the El Salvador beaches

Peruvian surfer María Fernanda “Mafer” Reyes made it to the podium at the ISA World Longboard Championship, held in El Salvador, after achieving a total score of 13.97, with her first heat scoring 7.40 and the second 6.57 in the final round.

The 26-year-old surfer, who belongs to the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), placed first in the five previous rounds. In the semifinal, she came in second on the board with 12.5 points.

On the podium

Rachel Tilly from the United States won the gold medal, with a total score of 15.13, followed by French surfer Alice Le Moigne (14.60) who won the silver medal, and Maria Fernanda Reyes (13.97) who got the bronze medal.

María Fernanda Reyes is a gold medalist at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games and a silver medalist at Lima 2019.

‘Mafer’ continues working to achieve the best results, with the support of the IPD and the National Surfing Sports Federation. “Congratulations!” highlighted the Peruvian Sport Institute in a press release.
