President Dina Boluarte on Friday stated that the visit of her Panamanian counterpart, Jose Raul Mulino, to our country strengthens the bonds of friendship with Peru.

Remarks were made during a working meeting with Panama's top official and the delegations of both countries at the Government Palace in Lima.

Previously, both Heads of State held a private meeting.

"Your visit, Mr. President (Mulino), only strengthens the bilateral ties between Panama and Peru, which are also rooted in democratic principles and cooperation," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

"We are two brotherly nations, with more than 100 years of business relations, but above all, of peaceful coexistence and the strengthening of the bonds of friendship," she added.

In turn, Panama's top official thanked the Peruvian authorities for their warm reception.

The distinguished guest stated that Panama and Peru not only share political identities but also have important regional economic interests to address.

"We hope —and it is our intention— that these will not just be technical meetings, but a series of meetings to resolve pending issues," he stated.

President Mulino also extended an invitation to President Boluarte to visit Panama.
