World Travel Awards 2025: How many nominations does Peru have? Until when is voting open?

The competition has begun in the 32nd edition of the World Travel Awards South America 2025, and Peru is once again participating with the goal of reaffirming its status as a must-visit destination in the region.

How many nominations does Peru have in the "Tourism Oscars"? Until when can votes be cast?

Given its participation and victories in previous editions of this prestigious international contest, Peru has become a key competitor and seeks to reaffirm its status as a favorite.

The World Travel Awards (WTA) were established in 1993 to recognize, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

Today, the WTA brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, and the winners set the benchmark to which all others aspire.

Peru's Nominations in WTA South America 2025

In 2025, our country is competing with 16 nominations, one less than the previous year and the same number as in the 2023 edition, across categories ranging from leading tourist attraction, leading culinary destination, to leading tourist board in South America.

In several of these categories, Peru has won multiple times.

The key nominations in which Peru aims to be crowned the best in South America at the World Travel Awards 2025 are the following:

South America's Leading Culinary Destination: Peru triumphed in 11 editions (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024).


South America's Leading Tourist Attraction: Machu Picchu, a World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, has been the winner in seven editions (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018).


South America's Leading Cultural Destination: Peru has claimed the award in nine editions (2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024).


South America's Leading Green Destination: Peru remains the favorite thanks to awards obtained in 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2020.


South America's Leading Destination: Peru triumphed for the first time in 2024.


South America's Leading Adventure Tourism Destination.

What is the deadline to vote?

Voting began on April 1 and will end on August 3, 2025.

However, there is no need to wait until that date or the last moment to vote for Peru's nominations and exceed the four awards obtained in the 2024 edition.

How to vote?

To vote for Peru, you must first visit the World Travel Awards website and create a personal account.

Once registration is completed, the user will receive an email to validate and verify their identity.

Finally, votes can be cast in the selected category.
