highlighted the economic growth that Peru has experienced in recent years and stated that the South American country is prepared to withstand the adverse effects of a trade war affecting trade between various countries.
Mrs. Boluarte participated in the ceremony marking the transfer of the 2025-2028 Executive and Directing Council of the Exporters Association (ADEX) on Tuesday evening.
Within this framework, the Head of State emphasized that Peru is a resilient country, as it has controlled inflation and a strong currency.
"Peru possesses macroeconomic stability, controlled inflation, and a strong currency; strengths that distinguish us in the region and allow us to face the effects of this global trade war with stability," she expressed.
The top official noted that, although the country has been impacted by a 10% tariff, Peru's resilience will allow it to turn this situation into an opportunity to strengthen itself.
The Head of State reaffirmed that the collaboration between the public and private sectors will be key for Peru to continue advancing.
"This year, we aim to achieve an economic growth of 4%, which will translate into more jobs, more investment, and less poverty," she underlined.
The top official noted that the Pact for Peru, proposed by her government, is a commitment to put aside selfishness, overcome partisan and ideological differences, and make defeating poverty and underdevelopment the goal.
"United for a great, dignified Peru with opportunities for all, this is the pact for Peru that we propose from the government for Peruvians of good will," she said.
Subsequently, President Boluarte reaffirmed the government's commitment to an open, modern foreign policy aimed at creating greater opportunities for Peruvian exporters.
The top official recalled that Peru currently has 22 active trade agreements, providing preferential access to 58 economies worldwide. Additionally, the Free Trade Agreement with Hong Kong, signed in November 2024, will soon come into effect.
"Thanks to these agreements, millions of consumers worldwide are familiar with and value Peruvian products, which stand out for their identity, quality, and added value," she remarked.
The President announced that our country is negotiating new agreements with Indonesia, India, and El Salvador. Similarly, the country is preparing for future negotiations with Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and the Philippines.
The Head of State also emphasized that opening markets is not enough, as it is necessary to raise the competitiveness of companies.
In this regard, she recalled the decision, at the beginning of the year, to maintain the drawback rate, as a key mechanism to support exporters in the face of global challenges.
Regarding infrastructure, the President highlighted the progress of the Chancay Megaport and investments in the Callao Port, which position Peru strategically to become the South Pacific's logistics hub.
"That will be one of the great legacies of this government: a connected and competitive country with a regional vision. And on this path, working together with organizations like ADEX will be essential," she pointed out.
Lastly, President Boluarte congratulated businessman Cesar Tello for assuming the chairmanship of the organization.
