The President of the Republic, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, led the sailing ceremony today of the Peruvian Navy (BAP) ship "Unión" on the occasion of its training trip abroad, which will spread Peruvian culture to nine countries in the Americas and Europe.

President Boluarte, during her inauguration speech, addressed the crew, composed of officers and cadets of the Navy, wishing them a safe, enriching, and memorable voyage.

“The experiences you will gain during this important voyage will be of great value to our country, because together we can build a better Peru, with a dignified future for all. Carry our red and white colors with pride around the world; return with new knowledge to make your homeland and your parents proud,” she said from the Callao Naval Base.

This voyage aims to complement the comprehensive training and strengthen the character of the naval cadets, allowing them to apply and consolidate the knowledge acquired at the Peruvian Naval Academy.

Furthermore, the Training Ship, in its capacity as a Traveling Embassy and representative of the Peruvian State, will disseminate Peruvian culture, promote tourism, and position the “Peru” brand through the display of exportable products.

The iconic ship will also visit ten ports in nine countries in the Americas and Europe, as well as one domestic port, as part of the "VIEX 2025" Training Trip Abroad.

“In every port they visit, Peru will be present with its history, its traditions, and its cultural richness. Through the academic and diplomatic activities that will take place, our sailors will share the essence of Peru with the world, in close collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Tourism, Culture, and Production,” the President stated.

Along these lines, she announced that this year, once again, the “Casa Perú” format will be implemented on board, a traveling exhibition promoted in coordination with Promperú and our trade offices abroad.

“Through it, we will show our ancient history, our music, dances, flavors, and exportable quality products. ‘Casa Perú’ is a window to the country and, at the same time, a celebration of who we are and what we aspire to be,” she emphasized.

The head of state also emphasized that, with more than 600,000 visitors received in just seven years of international navigation, the BAP "Unión" has established itself as a symbol of the Navy and a source of pride for all Peruvians.

"Today we renew that commitment to our country, to the sea, and to the world. To the crew of the BAP Unión, I wish a safe, enriching, and memorable voyage. Be worthy bearers of our history. Be, in every port, the kind, brave, and generous face of Peru," she concluded.
