The Emoliente Bandera emblem recognizes the work of emolienteros (emoliente drink vendors) and their invaluable contribution to the preservation of traditions with quality and safety, President Dina Boluarte highlighted on Thursday.

Mrs. Boluarte specified that the ministerial resolution declaring the production and sale of traditional drinks made with medicinal plants, such as emoliente, of sectoral interest, will allow for strengthening the capacities of vendors by providing advice and technical assistance to improve their practices and formalize their business.

At the national level, there are more than 70,000 emoliente vendors who put effort and strength into their entrepreneurship, because they know that this effort enables them to provide education to their children and the growth of their families.

"We have all nourished ourselves with that delicious nutritious and medicinal emoliente; they are entrepreneurs who do not easily give up," Mrs. Boluarte asserted, recalling that she had often turned to an emoliente vendor in search of this drink.

The top official referred to the Production Ministry, which today signed the ministerial resolution in favor of emoliente vendors, performing a fundamental role in ensuring that Peruvians' enterprises and businesses succeed and that their work becomes strengthened.

"I thank each and every one of you, entrepreneurs, for your dedication and love in keeping this tradition alive. Let's continue working together for a country that values and recognizes its traditions, that recognizes the efforts of its citizens. We will continue working for what truly matters," she stated.

Within this framework, the president underscored that this sector contributes to the country's development, as well as generates over 80,000 direct and indirect jobs, with the majority being promoted by women.

"United, we always move forward steadfastly in the task of building a future with opportunities for all, with inclusion, with equality, and, of course, with more results," she pointed out in front of a large group of male and female emoliente vendors.

During this activity, the Head of State toured various stalls and heard from vendors about the new varieties of the beverage they produce, such as fruity and frozen varieties. She also drank emoliente made with seasonal fruits.

This event took place at the Production Ministry headquarters in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
