The Executive Branch on Tuesday requested Congress to authorize
President Dina Boluarte's trip from September 21 to 25, 2025, to New York City, United States, in order to participate in the
80th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
The
draft legislative resolution submitted by the Head of State and Prime Minister Eduardo Arana states that, given the significance of this meeting, Peru must be represented at the highest level due to the importance of the planned activities.
The
initiative states that, as part of the High-Level Week of the mentioned session, the Head of State will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts and senior officials of the United Nations System.
It also specifies that the top official will remain in charge of the Presidential Office using digital technologies, "which adapt digital security mechanisms and ensure the security of the tools to be used."
The draft legislative resolution must be considered by the full Congress of the Republic.
