APEC Peru 2024: Malaysian PM arrives in Lima to participate in economic forum

The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, arrived in Lima, Peru, for an official visit and to participate in the Leaders' Week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

The arrival of the Malaysian representative came in response to an invitation extended by the 
President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte.

On behalf of Peru's top official, the Malaysian Prime Minister was welcomed by Production Minister Sergio Gonzalez upon arrival on Tuesday at around 11:15 p.m. (local time).

During the visit, President Dina Boluarte and Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, accompanied by their teams, will discuss a broad agenda that includes deepening bilateral cooperation and South-South cooperation.

Additionally, several agreements will be signed to foster collaboration in areas of mutual interest, such as gastronomy and tourism, as well as the development of industry and Halal certifications, which will enable the export of Peruvian products to markets in the Muslim region.


Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
