Presidential candidate Roberto Chiabra, representing Unidad Nacional (National Unity alliance), cast his vote at Horacio Patiño Cruzatti School in Lima’s Santiago de Surco district.

The aspirant exercised his right without incident, as no issues with electoral materials were reported at his polling place.

Chiabra Leon is one of 35 candidates seeking the Presidency of the Republic. His running mates are Javier Bedoya Denegri and Neldy Mendoza Flores, who are running for first and second vice president, respectively.

According to the voter registry of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), more than 27 million Peruvians are eligible to vote at 92,766 polling tables nationwide, in an election that marks the return to a bicameral Congress.

Voters will elect the president, vice presidents, members of the bicameral Congress (Senate and Chamber of Deputies), as well as representatives to the Andean Parliament.

The 2026 election day began at 7:00 a.m. across the country and will run until 6:00 p.m.

Voting hours were extended by one hour following logistical issues in delivering electoral materials to several polling places in the capital.
