Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen on Thursday stated that the Executive Branch's request to Congress not to reconsider the vote on President Dina Boluarte's international trip to the United Nations (UN) General Assembly responded to the fact that "there was an evaluation in which a kind of deterioration of the presidential figure had to be taken into account."

The government official told RPP Noticias that the travel authorization request was "the subject of questioning and unnecessary scrutiny" by Parliament.

In this regard, Adrianzen pointed out that, by the Head of State not traveling, "we have wasted a brilliant opportunity, and that is something lamentable."

the Cabinet chief said that, in addition to the President's presentation at the UN General Assembly, meetings had been arranged with business groups, chambers of commerce, other counterparts from the region, and leaders of multilateral organizations.

He also considered that in the questioning of this trip "personal interests and political considerations have prevailed."

There were 50 votes in favor, 55 votes against, and 5 abstentions on the draft legislative resolution.

Following this decision, Congressman Alex Paredes submitted a request for reconsideration of the recorded vote regarding the top official's request to travel abroad.
