Peru: President heads meeting to assess actions in response to transporters' strike

President Dina Boluarte leads a review meeting of the actions taken by various sectors of the Executive Branch in response to today's transport strike.

At the event, State ministers inform the president of the actions taken to ensure the transportation and security of citizens during the current strike.

The gathering takes place at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Adrianzen indicated that Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao region remained calm during the first hours of the transporters' strike. Similarly, he underscored that no acts of violence were reported.

He said that Peruvian National Police agents, supported by the Armed Forces, are safeguarding the security of the districts declared in state of emergency.
