"The Port of Chancay turns out to be the gateway, the passport, the place through which Chinese merchandise can enter, not only for 33 million Peruvians, but for nearly 500 million consumers existing in Latin America," he told TVPeru on July 4.
"Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and especially Brazil will benefit. Despite the Interoceanic (Highway), there is very little trade relationship with Brazil; therefore, this port will enable Brazilian exports of grains, meat, soybeans, and corn destined for Asia to use the Port of Chancay," he indicated.
