Peru: President holds working meeting with police and telecom operators

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte led a working meeting with State ministers, representatives of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces, and four telecom operators to analyze joint actions aimed at fighting criminal organizations dedicated to extortion, contract killings, and other crimes affecting Peru.

The meeting was also attended by Ministers Walter Astudillo (Defense), Raul Perez Reyes (Transportation-Communications), and Eduardo Arana (Justice-Human Rights).

Thus, the Head of State continues with actions aimed at confronting criminality that affects citizens in various parts of the country, which led the 
Executive Branch to declare a 60-day state of emergency in 13 districts of Lima Metropolitan Area and one in Callao region.

This event took place at the Government Palace in Lima on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, the top official led the fourteenth session of the Council for Justice System Reform at which actions were coordinated to foster the optimization of the judicial system and improve public policy for the benefit of citizens.

During this session, a detailed report was presented on compliance with the agreements adopted at the previous Council session held last January.
