At the first APEC 2025 Senior Officials' Meeting in South Korea, the Peruvian delegation —led by its Senior Official to APEC, Ambassador Renato Reyes— obtained the support and cooperation of the
to foster the implementation of the Lima Roadmap and clean hydrogen guidelines.
These instruments were proposed by Peru and adopted by consensus during its APEC Presidency in 2024 to promote the transition to a formal and global economy, as well as to develop roadmaps on clean and low-carbon hydrogen in the Asia-Pacific region.
This collaboration represents an opportunity for our country to access new technologies and knowledge that will allow it to advance in the development of these initiatives.
The
Pacific Economic Cooperation Council —of which Peru has been a member since 1991—
agreed in a meeting with its Acting Secretary General, Dr. Kaewkamol Pitakdumrongkit, to support Peru in developing studies that contribute to the implementation of the Lima Roadmap and green hydrogen guidelines.
Likewise,
Ambassador Renato Reyes and APERC President, Dr. Irie Kazutomo, agreed to cooperate on implementing the guidelines on clean energy through activities in key areas: standards and certifications, and market development for clean hydrogen.
These actions will be incorporated into APERC's regular work plan.
