will be implemented by the Executive Branch sectors involved in this task, which must present, no later than the second half of February, a situational diagnosis and the necessary requirements for this purpose.
"The President of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister) instructed all sectors present yesterday to submit, no later than the second half of February, the situational diagnosis and necessary requirements for the implementation of the agreements adopted at APEC Peru 2024, based on the reality of each sector," Reyes Tagle said in an interview with Andina News Agency.
The diplomat stated that this also includes the execution of the agreements signed during the visits and bilateral meetings held by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, within the framework of APEC.
The official indicated that the mechanism includes five stages, and its purpose is to concretize these agreements for the benefit of Peruvian civil society, establishing synergies among the sectors involved, as some issues are cross-cutting.
"But this includes the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Production, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Women, to name a few. I can continue adding to this the Digital Government Secretariat and digital government transformation, a significant number of actors," he explained.
APEC for the People
The senior Peruvian official at the economic forum also announced that the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided that 'APEC for the People' will be a legacy of our country as host economy. As a result, it will continue in future editions starting from 2025 onward.
He explained that this initiative has been unprecedented among the 21 economies and has had a significant impact, reaching more than half a million people in 10 Peruvian regions with specific initiatives, such as the granting of scholarships thanks to Google and Microsoft for training, seed capital aimed at female entrepreneurs, among other benefits.
In this regard, Reyes Tagle reported that earlier this month Microsoft expressed its interest in continuing to collaborate with Peru. As a result, more scholarships are forthcoming, which will be geared towards the implementation of the agreements made.
