"The APEC 2024 forum contributed to positioning Peru in a positively on the international stage and has brought concrete benefits to our population," she emphasized, noting that this event would not have been possible without the diligent, discreet, and highly-professional preparation work carried out by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

In turn, Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer noted that, thanks to the constant efforts of our diplomats, relations have been strengthened, doors have been opened to new investments, and initiatives have been promoted for the benefit of the national population.

"During the APEC Presidency, we not only showcased our rich culture and organization, but also led discussions on crucial issues such as climate change, food security, and the transition to a formal and global economy," Schialer stated.

He added that this event reaffirmed our role  as protagonists in the Asia-Pacific region and demonstrated our ability to generate positive impact at a global level and to project Peru as a reliable leader.

The head of Peruvian diplomacy also acknowledged the efforts by all members of the teams that worked during the event: diplomats, administrative staff, volunteers, and support staff, "key pieces in achieving collective success."

More than 280 meetings were organized during the year for the APEC Peru 2024 forum. Within this framework, two state visits, five official visits, and several bilateral meetings took place as well.
