Following the ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip, the Peruvian Government —through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs— has expressed the following:

Peru welcomes with great satisfaction the announcement of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza Strip and the release of hostages, achieved thanks to the mediation efforts of Egypt, the United States, and Qatar. This represents an important step towards the restoration of peace and security in the region.

Peru is confident that this agreement will allow for rapid, safe, and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid to alleviate the urgent needs of the affected civilian population.

Similarly, it urgently calls on the parties and the international community to redouble their efforts in the search for a lasting political solution based on dialogue and negotiation, which will guarantee peaceful coexistence and stability across the region, within the framework of relevant United Nations resolutions, respect for the values and principles of the UN Charter, international law, and compliance with the commitments undertaken by all parties.

Lastly, Peru reaffirms its support for the two-State solution, in which both can coexist peacefully within secure and mutually agreed-upon borders.
