Peruvian Ambassador to Romania, Felix Denegri, on Monday held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the local Ministry of Agriculture, Violeta Musat. At the event, they agreed to coordinate efforts to promote bilateral trade in agriculture.

During the gathering, Peru's enormous potential in terms of agricultural efficiency through modernization and the use of technology was highlighted.

The importance of major works such as the third stage of Chavimochic Irrigation Project was notably mentioned, as it will allow the expansion of the agricultural frontier by 63,000 hectares and improve production on 48,000 existing hectares.

The diplomat also highlighted Peru's production capacity through crops such as grapes, ginger, blueberries, asparagus, and a variety of products, which position our country as a major exporter.

In turn, Secretary Musat stated that Romania is interested in strengthening cooperation with Peru.

Moreover, she proposed the possibility of signing a framework cooperation agreement between both countries' Ministries of Agriculture.
