President Dina Boluarte on Monday ordered that State ministers continue heading to Peruvian regions to coordinate with regional and local authorities on actions to address emergencies caused by heavy rains and flooding.

"The ministers are traveling to their regions to coordinate efforts with regional governments, mayors, and with us, so that we can provide assistance through the National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) with humanitarian aid and everything needed," she stated.

Afterwards, the Head of State established the Emergency Hub, a platform that will operate 24/7 to monitor emergencies.

This group will be coordinated by the Ministry of Defense. It will include the Ministries of Agrarian Development and Irrigation; Housing, Construction, and Sanitation; Transportation and Communications; Health; and Education.

"The machinery from (the Ministries of) Transportation and Communications; Housing; Agriculture; Defense —all at full capacity— will be responding to emergencies, especially in the northern and central regions of the country," she stated.

Emergency in Tumbes

As part of emergency response actions, the Head of State announced the declaration of emergency for the districts of Tumbes region, as requested by the region's governor, as well as for Pataz and Bolivar districts, in La Libertad region, which have been affected by emergencies.

Likewise, the top official ordered the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation to provide housing units to those affected and the Ministry of Education to allocate the necessary funds for the maintenance and rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure, ensuring that the start of the school year is not disrupted.

Moreover, the President tasked the Ministry of Health with supplying medicines and equipment to health centers, supporting the restoration of damaged facilities, and carrying out preventive measures against dengue.

"The Army should also join in to assist those affected, help keep everyone free from dengue, and deploy the Engineering Battalion to emergency areas through the Ministry of Defense," she noted.

"Let us work together in a coordinated manner. Peru needs us united and strong," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

Cabinet Chief Gustavo Adrianzen, along with various State ministers, also took part in the multisectoral meeting to coordinate actions in response to the rains and flooding of the 2025 season.

During the meeting, reports were received from regional governors and local authorities in areas facing emergencies.
