Peru increased exports by 10.3% in Oct 2024

11:35 | Lima, Dec. 16.

Peruvian exports value amounted to US$6.589 billion in October of this year, which represents a 10.3% increase compared to the same month in 2023, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported.

"This increase is attributed to the 11% rise in the average export price," it indicated.

The BCR explained that the increase in the average export price was mainly supported by the high international prices of export metals such as gold, zinc, and copper, which have also driven up the prices of iron-steel products such as copper manufactures, and by higher coffee prices to a lesser extent.

The issuing entity indicated that exports totaled US$61.132 billion during the first 10 months of 2024, which represents a 10.8% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

Lastly, it noted that this growth was driven mainly by the increase in prices, which rose by 7.7%, and to a lesser extent by the increase in volumes, which saw a 2.8% rise.
