Peru: Economy continues to advance, grew 3.38% in Oct 2024

The Peruvian economy continues to advance and registered a 3.38% growth in October of this year compared to the same month in 2023, according to the National Production Technical Report prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).

The growth of the following sectors stood out: Farming (13.41%); Transportation, Storage, and Courier (5.42%); Other Services (4.87%); Construction (4.86%); Public Administration, Defense, and Others (4.25%); Accommodation and Restaurants (4.04%); among the main ones.

Commerce (3.82%); Services Provided to Companies (3.93%); Telecommunications and Other Information Services (2.77%); Electricity, Gas, and Water (1.75%); and Manufacturing (1.70%) also registered increase.

On the other hand, Fishing (-48.50%); Mining-Hydrocarbons (-2.18%); and Finance-Insurance (-0.22%) sectors showed unfavorable performance.

The Institute also stated that Peru's productive activity increased by 3.02% from January to October 2024 and by 2.47% during the annualized period (November 2023-October 2024).
