Peru and the European Union are promoting a joint agenda for bilateral relations to deepen them on issues of political, economic, and cooperation interest, prioritizing citizen security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Vice Minister Félix Denegri received the European Union (EU) Ambassador Jonathan Hatwell to promote this joint agenda.

The Foreign Ministry's X account highlights that the relationship with the EU is one of the strongest our country has.

"Peru expressed its willingness to move toward a Comprehensive Bilateral Political Agreement, based on the 2022 Memorandum of Understanding," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added on its social media.



The European Commission Representation has been present in Peru since March 1991.

The delegation officially represents the European Union in Peru and also serves as the link with the Andean Community, whose General Secretariat is also based in Peru.

The European Union Delegation in Peru is part of a global network of 141 Delegations attached to the European External Action Service, which work closely with the diplomatic missions of the Member States.
