The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) highlighted the upcoming implementation of 21 public investment projects totaling more than S/820 million (around US$224 million) in the area of influence of the Chancay Multipurpose Port Terminal, under the direction of the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN).
These projects will benefit more than 2.7 million residents of the Lima region and seek to close gaps in key services such as health, citizen security, road infrastructure, and port operations.
The projects are part of the Strategic Territorial Investment Portfolio (CIET), approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 054-2025-PCM, and will be executed in coordination with the Ministries of Defense and Interior, the Regional Government of Lima, and various local municipalities.
“These investments reflect the commitment of President Dina Boluarte's government to territorial development, economic reactivation, and closing gaps,” stated Gustavo Adrianzén, President of the Council of Ministers.
“We are carrying out high-impact projects, with transparency and efficiency, so that the growth generated by the Port of Chancay has a real impact on the population,” he added.
Among the main interventions planned for the port hub's area of influence are the improvement of three health facilities in Chancay, Huaura, and Atavillos Alto; the rehabilitation of police stations in Aucallama, Hualmay, and Chancay; and the construction of a new headquarters for the Chancay Port Captaincy.
Regarding road infrastructure, improvements will be made to the Palpa-Orcón-Quilca interurban road connecting Aucallama (Huaral) with Santa Rosa de Quives (Canta); the Arahuay-Lachaqui departmental highway (Canta).
Also the Vilcahuaura-Casuarinas departmental road (Huaura); the Tingo Bridge-Chacras de Maray-Chiuchin-Picoy Bridge interurban road connecting Santa Leonor and Checras (Huaura); and the Huacho-Huaura departmental road (Huaura).
These road improvements will enhance connectivity, competitiveness, and the smooth flow of goods.
It should be noted that ANIN is defining the contracting strategy for the execution of all these projects.
The execution of these projects will result from the signing of six inter-institutional agreements between the entity attached to the PCM and authorities from all three levels of government.
This agreement will mark the beginning of a key stage for the logistical and social development of this part of the country.
In this way, the Executive branch reaffirms its commitment to executing projects with the highest standards of quality and complete transparency, within the framework of the national policy to promote the closing of gaps.
