on Wednesday underscored that one of the Government's main concerns regarding education is also aimed at ensuring that students receive quality food, which allows them to make the most of their learning.
The Head of State said the Executive Branch is working to ensure that schoolchildren receive quality education. Thus, more Bicentennial Schools are being built and the curriculum is also being enhanced.
In this regard, Mrs. Boluarte highlighted the reinstatement of the civic education course.
The top official stressed that, during her administration, English classes were included as part of the education for kindergarten children, so they could expand their knowledge from an early age.
"Now we are concerned that nutrition is not only focused on ensuring they can concentrate and learn their subjects, but we also want them to eat well, to be well nourished; with quality nutrition, we can have healthy children and healthy youth, enabling them to make the most of their learning process," Mrs. Boluarte said in relation to Wasi Mikuna.
Regarding the new program, she said it is a very important step by the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis).
The president indicated that, when she was head of the portfolio (2021-2022), she worked to ensure compliance with technical specifications and product control, so that they would reach schools in the best possible condition.
The top official indicated that "the food of the population is sacred" and "not a single Sol" allocated for education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, among others, should be touched.
"We cannot afford to tolerate corrupt people and corrupters," she added.
Moreover, the president stressed the importance of working together and with respect among Peruvians to ensure quality education and, above all, good nutrition for school students.
"I wish Wasi Mikuna success. All ministers, in a coordinated manner, must give Wasi Mikuna a boost, so that it guarantees quality, nutritious food, 100% healthy for our primary school students and the secondary education sector that we still have in the Amazonia," Mrs. Boluarte emphasized.
Lastly, she indicated that they will continue working to expand the program so that it can also reach more high school students in the Amazonia, as well as in the Peruvian highlands and coast.
