President Dina Boluarte on Monday stated that during her meetings with investors and businesspeople in Davos, Switzerland, they highlighted that Peru is the best qualified economically and politically for investments in Latin America.

"Many investors who view our country with hope, faith, and confidence have wanted to meet with me to say 'I want to invest in your country, your country is the best qualified economically and politically in the region, in Latin America,'" Mrs. Boluarte pointed out.

"Investors, including some presidents with whom we have met, said: 'President, you have achieved in two years what the governments of our country have not accomplished in years, it (Peru) has the lowest inflation in the region, even lower than Mexico and the United States,'" she added.

The top official noted that an attraction for investment is the country's inflation rate, which is close to 2%, and the strength of the Peruvian Sol in the region, a currency that is even used for commercial transactions in Bolivia and Brazil, as it maintains its value against the U.S. dollar, unlike local currencies.

The Head of State specified that other topics discussed during his work agenda in Davos included the political crisis facing some Latin American countries.

"Here, we face citizen insecurity; it is not just a Peruvian issue, but an international one. That is why, at the beginning of last year, we met with all countries of the Andean Community to address insecurity in a coordinated manner, but we also wage war on crime," she pointed out.

The President participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Specialized Research Services Building at the Honorio Delgado-Hideyo Noguchi Mental Health Institute in Lima's San Martin de Porres district. There, she reminded attendees that healthcare and education are the two priorities of her administration.

For this reason, the top official said the Government has increased the budget for these two sectors, and hospital infrastructure is being strengthened by unblocking public works that were previously stalled, such as the aforementioned healthcare building that had been halted for five years.

"That is the responsibility we have imposed on ourselves as a government. We do not want to go down in history for being the first female president; that will be written. We want to go down in history as the first female president who cared about solving the nation's problems," she expressed.

Regarding healthcare, Mrs. Boluarte said new hospitals are being built in Peruvian regions to improve citizens' health, and that works will not stop.

Within this framework, she called on the Comptroller's Office and the Judiciary to hold a working meeting to address the extra-procedural aspects and allow the resumption of more than 2,000 stalled public works.

"They are not part of this government but of others. As a responsible government, we are committed to completing the (public) works before July 28, 2026," she concluded.
