Peru's Ambassador presents credentials to King Charles III of the United Kingdom

Career diplomat Ignacio Higueras Hare presented to King Charles III the letters of credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

During the meeting, the Peruvian diplomat conveyed to the British monarch his enthusiasm for the excellent state of bilateral relations between Peru and the United Kingdom.

Similarly, the envoy reaffirmed the friendship bonds that unite both nations.

Likewise, the Peruvian diplomat highlighted the favorable economic relationship between the two countries, placing special emphasis on 
Peru's support in the process of the United Kingdom's accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), set to take place on December 15.

Furthermore, Ambassador Higueras Hare underscored the joint work that is being fostered to execute projects under the Government-to-Government (G2G) mechanism.

He took the opportunity to highlight Peru's commitment to sustainable development and its leadership in promoting efforts to protect the environment.

In turn, His Majesty King Charles III highlighted the strength of the bilateral relationship between the two States, which has spanned more than 200 years of diplomatic ties. He also extended a special greeting to the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte.

At the end of the ceremony at Buckingham Palace, Ambassador Higueras Hare hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations established in London, British authorities, and private sector representatives.

It should be noted that this official act formalizes the beginning of his diplomatic mission as representative of Peru in the United Kingdom, consolidating the ties uniting both nations.

The ceremony took place on December 5.
