The "Peru and South Korea Agreement on Air Services between their Territories and Beyond" signed by both countries' governments will come into effect as of December 13, 2024.
It was established in a document published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Friday.
The signatories on that occasion were Peru's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Ignacio Higueras, and South Korea's Second Vice Foreign Affairs Minister, Lee Do-Hoon.
Terms of the Agreement
The agreement stipulates that the airlines designated by the governments of Peru and South Korea, respectively, "shall have the right to operate regular international air services" departing from any point in Peruvian territory to any location in South Korean territory, and vice versa.
Among other aspects, the agreement specifies that the prices for passenger and cargo air transport "shall be set in accordance with the national legislation of the country where the flights originate."
These will be set by the respective airlines based on "commercial considerations in the market."
