Peru: Presidency commemorates Bicentennial of Junin Battle

The Presidency of the Republic on Tuesday saluted the Bicentennial of the Battle of Junin, a patriotic feat that paved the way for consolidating Peru's independence.

"Honor and glory to the victors on Pampa de Junin, where 200 years ago the path was paved to consolidate Peru's freedom," the Presidential Office expressed via social media channels.


In turn, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministries of Education, Interior, Defense, as well as the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) and the National Superintendence of Labor Inspection (Sunafil) paid tribute to the Bicentennial.


At the event, Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen recognized the dedication of heroes and heroines who fought in the Battle of Junin, which helped consolidate Peru's independence.

"We pay tribute to those who participated in the glorious Battle of Junin, to its heroes. Today, we do this in a different manner, celebrating, commemorating, but above all showcasing to the country the richness of its culture, customs, and traditions," he expressed on the occasion.


Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense informed about the care and training received by the faithful horses that make up the "Glorious Hussars of Junin" Cavalry Regiment.
