In the central and southern Sierra, Christmas will be welcomed with high daytime temperatures, with values between 17 °C and 27 °C expected, forecasted the National Meteorological and Hydrological Service (Senamhi).
The institution also alerted a warm weather for 49 provinces in the departments of Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Junín, Lima, Moquegua, Puno and Tacna.
This phenomenon will occur starting this Monday, December 23, and maximum temperatures are forecast for today between 17°C and 25°C in the central mountains, and 18°C to 27°C in the southern mountains.
In addition, little cloudiness is expected during the day, an increase in ultraviolet (UV) radiation, especially towards midday, and an increase in nighttime temperatures; likewise, gusts of wind with speeds close to 40 km/h will occur.
Given this situation, the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) recommends that the population apply sunscreen and sunscreen if exposed to solar radiation, as well as wear wide-brimmed hats and glasses with ultraviolet filters.
It is also suggested to drink plenty of fluids, not eat food and soft drinks that are not refrigerated, or expose oneself directly to the sun's rays.
Likewise, it is important to ensure that fish, seafood and red meat are fresh to avoid food poisoning.
It is also recommended to maintain adequate ventilation at home and in the workplace, as well as to wear light-colored clothing, avoid physical activities between 10:00 and 17:00 hours, and try to have oral serum sachets at home.
