Brazil assumes Peru's diplomatic and consular representation in Venezuela

Starting today, the Brazilian Government will assume the protection of Peruvian interests in Venezuela, as well as consular cooperation for Peruvian citizens in said country, along with the custody of Peruvian diplomatic premises, assets and archives, Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea announced on Monday.

This diplomatic and consular representation by Brazil materializes following the acceptance of the Venezuelan Government, as reported by means of an Official Communiqué released today, and in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned Conventions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported.

Peru expresses its gratitude to the Government of Brazil for this invaluable support, which reflects the excellent state of our bilateral relations that are based on historic and solid ties of friendship, cooperation, and integration.
