The Peruvian Government lamented and expressed its serious concern over the Venezuelan Government's decision to withdraw its consent for Brazil to continue representing and protecting Argentina's interests in Caracas, which disregards the guarantees established in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.

Firm in its commitment to democratic values and the full validity of the principles of International Law in our region, Peru urges the Government of Venezuela to fully guarantee the inviolability of the premises, assets, and archives of Argentina in that country, as well as to safeguard the integrity and fundamental rights of asylum holders in that diplomatic venue.

The Government of Peru expresses its solidarity with its counterparts of Argentina and Brazil over the situation they are currently facing.

As is known, Venezuela recently revoked Brazil's authorization to guard Argentina's diplomatic venues.

The communiqué was released on Sunday afternoon.
