Peru's President: APEC will be showcase to present Peru as reliable investment partner

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week will be a showcase to prove that Peru is a country with a vocation for peace and a reliable partner for responsible investments, President Dina Boluarte affirmed on Monday.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the presentation ceremony for Armed Forces personnel of Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao region, who will support the Peruvian National Police in maintaining internal order during the APEC Peru 2024 Leaders' Week.

Within this framework, the Head of State reaffirmed her commitment to continue maintaining a strong economy.

In this regard, the top official called on all Peruvian families and institutions to come together so that this important forum shines brightly on its own.

Likewise, the president stated that APEC Peru 2024 will be an opportunity to discuss important issues for the progress and development of the 21 Asia-Pacific region economies and their populations.

Law enforcement

Regarding the participation of the Peruvian National Police and the Armed Forces in preserving internal order, Mrs. Boluarte said that the work of both institutions will be important for the success of the upcoming international event.

"We are confident that the joint efforts of the Armed Forces and the National Police will result in a successful forum, as well as in an image of unity and strength that will be very positive for Peru and the world," she stated.

The top official emphasized that support from the Armed Forces, within the framework of APEC Peru 2024, will be vital to ensuring that this international event takes place in a safe, orderly, and successful manner, showcasing Peru's capacity and leadership in the eyes of the world.

"Our Armed Forces are prepared to confront any challenge; at APEC, they will do so side by side with the National Police to ensure that security prevails," she noted.

In this context, Mrs. Boluarte stated the Government stands with the Armed Forces.

She added that they will continue working together so that all Peruvians can live in a safer and more inclusive country with greater opportunities.

"Supported by our Armed Forces and the National Police, but above all, by the patriotic commitment of all Peruvians, we will set an example of unity, brotherhood, and a prosperous country that is constantly seeking development," she noted.
