on Monday forecast that Peru and China might be completing negotiations for a double taxation agreement by the end of this year.
"What are the advantages that we offer to this huge country (China)? Among the advantages is our institutional stability, in terms of regulations. We have a free trade agreement (FTA) with them, which not only allows for exporting or importing at zero tariff rates, but also allows for granting stability and security to investments," Arista told TVPeru.
"There is also Peru's recognition of China as a market economy. And, thirdly, we will be signing a double taxation agreement with China; the corresponding negotiations should be concluding by the end of this year," he added.
"There are basically no tariffs worldwide anymore, but most of the barriers are phytosanitary. That is why a team from Senasa is accompanying us to open a market for (Peruvian) farming production," he added.
Furthermore, the government official said that external markets are quite demanding. Thus, Peru has to live up to international demands.
