Peru: President Boluarte to receive leaders of China and Indonesia at Government Palace

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte will receive the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, today within the framework of his official state visit to Peru.

The Chinese leader is expected to arrive at Air Group No. 8 this morning.

During the meeting, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Government Palace in Lima, it is expected that both leaders hold various official protocol ceremonies.

These include the Chancay Megaport inauguration and the signing of various bilateral agreements.

Similarly, the Peruvian Head of State will receive the President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, who arrived in the Peruvian capital last night.


The visiting president will be received at the Executive Branch headquarters at 2:00 p.m. (local time).

At the meeting, instruments related to the bilateral relationship between Peru and Indonesia will also be signed, with ministers from both countries in attendance.

More dignitaries arriving

Both Xi Jinping and Prabowo Subianto will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meetings, which takes place in Lima through Saturday.

In this context, U.S. President Joseph Biden, Chilean President Gabriel Boric, and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol are also expected to arrive in Peru on Thursday afternoon and evening.

The Prime Ministers of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and Japan, Shigeru Ishiba, will arrive at Air Group No. 8 as well.

Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
