The Executive Branch ordered that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building, located at Jiron Santa Rosa No. 139-151 in Lima to be officially named "Ambassador Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde" in honor of his distinguished diplomatic career and service to the Nation.

The measure was formalized through Ministerial Resolution No. 0578-2025-RE, published in the Legal Regulations Bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano on Wednesday.

The regulation mandates the installation of a commemorative bust of Ambassador Garcia Belaunde inside the Ministry building.

The General Administration Office is tasked with implementing the resolution without requiring additional resources from the Public Treasury.

It is specified that the official naming of the mentioned building is honorary and must be used in institutional contexts with respect for the name, honor, dignity, and reputation of the honoree.

Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer endorsed the present resolution.
