Peru's President announces tough stance against highly-dangerous criminals

From the Swiss city of Davos, President Dina Boluarte led a virtual meeting with Cabinet Chief Gustavo Adrianzen to strengthen the fight against organized crime.

The meeting also included the participation of Ministers Elmer Schialer (Foreign Affairs), Jose Arista (Economy-Finance), and Walter Astudillo (Defense).

During the virtual work session on Tuesday, the Head of State announced a tough stance against highly dangerous criminals such as hitmen, extortionists, and murderers, who will be sent to Challapalca Prison, Tacna region, southern Peru.

Moreover, the top official urged the judiciary and the Public Ministry to work together so as to prevent those arrested from being easily released.

As is known, President Boluarte traveled to the city of Davos, Switzerland, where she is participating in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting or Davos Forum.

The Head of State was invited to participate in various events with her counterparts, CEOs, and high-level experts.

Within this framework, the President will meet with five Heads of State and around 14 business leaders.
