In Peru, 57% of workers use artificial intelligence (AI) in their daily tasks, marking an 8-percentage-point increase from 2024, when 49% reported using it, according to a study by Bumeran.
Compared to other countries in the region, Peru leads in AI adoption in the workplace, with 57% of workers incorporating it into their activities.
Argentina and Chile share second place, both at 55%.
Below them are Panama, where 40% use AI, and Ecuador, which has the lowest adoption rate in the region at 39%, according to data from the job portal.
"More and more Peruvian professionals are making artificial intelligence an ally in their work. Today, 57% use it in their daily tasks, 8 percentage points more than in 2024. But beyond adoption, what truly stands out is its impact: 99% of those who use it say it makes their work easier," said Miguel Bechara, Commercial Director at Bumeran Peru, in remarks to
Andina News Agency.
"This shows how technology not only helps improve productivity but also allows professionals to focus on higher-value and more efficient activities," he added.
Regarding how often workers use AI, 36% report using it almost daily, 25% use it every day, and 21% use it once a week.
Besides, 15% indicate they use it all the time, while only 3% employ it once a month.
In terms of sectors, 15% of AI-using professionals work in Technology and IT; 13% in Administration and Finance; 10% in Production, Supply, and Logistics; and another 10% in Construction.
When asked about the benefits of using AI at work, 62% of workers believe it saves time; 59% say it speeds up tasks; 46% state it automates repetitive work; 44% mention it optimizes processes; and 41% highlight faster access to information.
On the other hand, those who do not use AI at work cited the following reasons: lack of knowledge on how to use it (56%); company policies prohibiting it (17%); personal preference for working without AI assistance (14%); and belief that it is unnecessary (12%).
