Cultural rights

The Open Museums program is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, within the framework of Law No. 30599, which stipulates that on the first Sunday of each month, Peruvian citizens have free access to archaeological sites, museums, and historical sites administered by the State nationwide.

This measure aligns with the objectives of the National Cultural Policy, “contributing to the exercise of citizens’ cultural rights, such as strengthening the appreciation of cultural diversity and cultural heritage.”

The museums are open throughout the week. The public can find the complete list and plan their next visit online: click here.
