Year-on-year inflation stood at 4% in June 2026, while 12-month core inflation excluding food and energy came in at 4.5%, the
"However, SAE inflation excluding transportation stood at 1.6% year-on-year, 3 percentage points below SAE inflation, reflecting the impact of price changes in the transportation category, which rose 18.3% over the last 12 months," it explained.
The BCR said this, in turn, reflected increases in vehicle fuel prices recorded in March and April this year.
"Likewise, the annualized three-month moving average of the seasonally adjusted SAE inflation rate excluding transportation stood at 1.7% in June 2026. This rate is higher than the one recorded in the previous month (1.5%)," it concluded.
