The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, arrived in Ancash region on Wednesday morning, as part of his nationwide tour over the next three months.

The Head of State aims to carry out a full working agenda to foster regional development and address priority demands from both the population and local authorities.

Ancash is the fifth region visited by the top official. Previously, he visited Huanuco, Junin, La Libertad, and Cajamarca.

Upon his arrival at the local airport, the Head of State was received with the honors befitting his high investiture.

"The purpose of our working visit is to learn firsthand what the most urgent issues for the region are," Jeri said in his first statements to reporters after arriving at Huaraz's Plaza de Armas (Main Square).

Earlier, the Head of State received a warm welcome from students, teachers, and parents of Educational Institution No. 86049 Jose Carlos Mariategui in Paltay, Tarica district.

They showed him their facilities and spoke with the Executive Branch's highest authority to wish him success in his administration.

The President is scheduled to attend multisectoral activities on citizen security, health, agriculture, support for vulnerable populations, and dialogue with the private sector, aimed at boosting regional competitiveness.

"Our main goal is to work towards leaving a government much better than the one we inherited, and we are confident that we are on the right track," he pointed out.

At Huaraz's Main Square, the top official presided over the flag-raising and national-anthem singing ceremony, as part of the government's measures to strengthen national identity.
