Peru's Navy General Commander receives protocol greeting from UK Defense Attaché

Peruvian Navy General Commander, Admiral Luis Polar Figari, received protocol a presentation greeting from the new Defense Attaché of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Peru, Colonel Marc Jamieson.

On this occasion, British Ambassador Gavin Cook accompanied Colonel Jamieson, who takes over from Colonel George Maund.

This event took place at the Peruvian Navy General Command headquarters' Union Room on January 24.

It was also attended by the host country's Navy General Staff Chief, Vice Admiral Cesar Colunge Pinto.

During this meeting, Peru's most important Navy authority and the British diplomat discussed issues of common interest and expressed their willingness to continue strengthening relations of cooperation and friendship between both Navies.

Colonel George Maund's term in Peru has ended after three years of fruitful diplomatic work. 

In recognition of his mission, the Peruvian Navy General Commander presented him with the Institutional Bicentennial Book and wished him success in his new destination.
