President Dina Boluarte on Friday announced that S/98 million (US$26 million) will be allocated this year for school infrastructure in Peru's southern Tacna region, aimed at maintaining educational institutions and the Jorge Basadre National University.

According to Mrs. Boluarte, these funds will be used for 366 maintenance ventures under the National Educational Infrastructure Program (Pronied) and for 37 projects linked to the Jorge Basadre National University.

"This is how we speak in our Government, with works, deeds, and numbers that prove the economy continues growing and that we remain on the right path to closing historic gaps," she expressed.

The Head of State said that one of her administration's commitments is to improve students' education, in coordination with regional governments, municipalities, and the private sector.

"We will continue building our homeland. We are a government aware that education transforms lives and the dreams of our children, adolescents, and youth. It gives you the opportunity to have quality education that enhances your abilities," she stated.

The top official said that quality education cannot be a privilege for a few or of a segment of society, but for all Peruvians, especially the most vulnerable.

"This COAR (High Performance School) demonstrates this, with more than S/107 million (US$28 million) in investment through the Works for Taxes mechanism, which allows us to have a first-class school, with academic, residential, sports, and administrative areas designed to provide quality comprehensive training," she noted.

Mrs. Boluarte also mentioned that this educational institution features 4 science laboratories equipped with the latest technology; art and music workshops where young people can develop their creativity; a library; a computer room; multipurpose rooms; a swimming pool; among others.

The President also reiterated that the Government has no place for those voices that seek to divide or see it regress as it is an administration that wants progress for all.

"Our country does not stop. To those who want to stop it, we say: join this winning team, put in your strength, and we will all win," she concluded.
