Ex-Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Alfredo Ferrero Diez Canseco has assumed the post of Ambassador of Peru to the United States of America.

During his term in office, he will foster new investments to Peru, explore new economic sectors of interest for the country, and strengthen bilateral relations, the Peruvian Embassy in the United States announced on its official X account on Wednesday.

Thus, Ferrero replaces Ambassador Gustavo Meza-Cuadra in the post, whose duties were terminated on November 30, 2023.

The new envoy served as Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism between 2003 and 2006 during the government of former President Alejandro Toledo.
