The presence of President Dina Boluarte at the upcoming 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, will contribute to promoting the attraction of investment to Peru, Economy and Finance Minister Jose Arista underscored.

The Head of State will travel abroad from January 20 to 24, 2025, to attend the international meeting where important executives from companies and international organizations, as well as authorities from various countries, will participate.

"The presence of the President of Peru at an international event is a very important attraction; it is of great interest to foreign investors who are eager to speak with the country's leader," he told TVPeru on Tuesday.

The Cabinet member lamented that the Head of State was unable to travel to New York City in September 2024 to participate in the United Nations summit, where international investors were also present.

"The President was not allowed to travel to New York on the previous occasion, for example, but believe me, many investors had gone especially to speak with the President and to find out if everything being said about Peru abroad is true," he indicated.

Minister Arista pointed out that Peru is well regarded abroad for its impressive macroeconomic data.

"What country in Latin America has an investment grade with a country risk of 150 (basis points), reserves level equivalent to 29% of GDP, 2% inflation per year, and a debt level of 32% of GDP? The truth is, they ask, what country is this?" he said.

The government official also noted that the meetings the top official will hold in Davos are already being coordinated.

"Right now, according to the schedule provided by the President, we are arranging meetings along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (...), with top investors and various investment funds, to promote the country through the President's presence," he explained.

Moreover, Arista pointed out that the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) initially projects 3% economic growth for this year and 4% for the first quarter of 2025.
