Peru: Fin Min to travel to Switzerland for World Economic Forum

The Executive Branch has authorized the trip of Economy and Finance Minister Jose Arista to Davos, Switzerland, from January 20 to 24, 2025, to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting.

Supreme Resolution 004-2025-PCM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Thursday, approved the trip of Minister Arista.

During his absence, his office will be temporarily entrusted to Defense Minister Walter Astudillo.

The resolution explains that Minister Arista will attend the WEF under the theme "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age."

The purpose of his participation is to consolidate Peru's economic development and stability, promote private investment, and provide signals of stability to potential investors.

The World Economic Forum is an independent, non-profit, international private organization. It engages global business, political, intellectual, and social leaders committed to improving the world by influencing industrial, regional, and global agendas.

Key events at the WEF Annual Meeting include: a private strategic session on sustainable Finance and investment for the Amazon, a high-level segment with leaders and stakeholders from Latin America: "Addressing Latin America's Faultlines," the dinner on Latin America, a stakeholder dialogue: "New Agreement on Plastics: What Will It Take?" and bilateral meetings with authorities and representatives from private companies and institutions.
