President Dina Boluarte on Tuesday participated in the "Alliance for Labor Inclusion" inclusive pact, which took place within the framework of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Labor and Employment Promotion Minister Daniel Maurate also participated in the ceremony, which marks the launch of the "Por más Empresas Inclusivas" (For More Inclusive Companies) campaign.
The Cabinet member indicated 500 companies had hired people with disabilities by 2023. The number is expected to reach 1,000 by end-2024.
Last year alone, 170 businesses hired people with disabilities, accounting for 2.29% of the enterprises covered by the regulation.
He also highlighted during this event that companies employing people with disabilities shared their experiences of how they have learned to relate to these individuals and how their work has helped improve the organizations' productivity.
