The
on Thursday reported that it secured US$566.5 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments for the country from nine companies based in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, and the United States in 2024.
The majority of the investment was allocated to two key productive sectors: Various Manufactures (US$205.5 million) and Food-Beverages (US$310 million).
Additionally, the agency secured US$1 million in reinvestment commitments from the subsidiary of a Spanish company in the Food and Beverages sector.
PromPeru also secured 140 foreign companies interested in exploring investment opportunities in the country. This achievement was accomplished through 19 international trade promotion events held abroad during the past year.
Furthermore, over 170 specialized reports were provided to potential foreign investors seeking to explore the Peruvian market.
It is noteworthy that the FDI commitments secured by PromPeru in 2024 were five times greater than those obtained in 2023 (US$103 million).
Investment Promotion
PromPeru is tasked with positioning the country as an attractive destination for FDI across five key productive sectors: Various Manufactures, Food and Beverages, Renewable Energy, Tourism, and Knowledge-Based Services.
Since 2020, it has operated the Directorate for the Promotion of Business Investments, responsible for promoting, attracting, retaining, and expanding foreign direct investment in ventures aimed at producing goods and services for purposes other than infrastructure and public services.
