The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday stated that her upcoming trip to Davos, Switzerland, to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, aims to showcase Peru as a reliable partner and attract greater investments into the country.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the cornerstone laying ceremony for the Carrasquillo Bridge in Morropon province, Piura region, northern Peru.

At this event, the top official underscored that our country obtained significant recognition after the APEC Peru forum, held last November.

The Head of State confirmed that she will travel to Davos once again on January 20, "because we need Peru to be regarded as an important country for the world. We need more investments to come to Peru."

"We must go out there and tell them (investors) that Peru is a trustworthy country, a country that projects itself forward," she noted.

Congress authorized the top official to travel to Davos from January 20 to 24 to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, where she has been invited to speak at various events with her counterparts, CEOs, and high-level experts.

President Boluarte underscored the start of construction for the Carrasquillo Bridge, which will be 550 meters long and for which an investment of S/375 million (about US$99 million) will be made. It will provide jobs for more than 255,000 residents.

The Head of State said this infrastructure project will benefit different localities in the area, which are affected by the swelling of rivers during rainy season.

"This bridge will be built in compliance with high quality standards. It will feature pedestrian walkways that will enable it to withstand inclement weather, as well as ensure accessible and safe infrastructure for all, even during rainy conditions," she pointed out.

The top official specified that 30 bridges were constructed and installed in Piura in 2024. Similarly, she announced that this year the number will be much higher and span various regions.

Moreover, the President indicated that her administration will also support the construction of more hospitals in the country's northern area, adding that the Alto Piura project is on track.

In this regard, Mrs. Boluarte emphasized the importance of the different government levels working together in a coordinated manner to move these projects forward.

"We need to continue working in coordination and collaboration with regional governments, mayors, society, institutions because we are all Peru," she concluded.
