Peru: President Boluarte welcomes Edmundo Gonzalez at Government Palace

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday received the President-elect of Venezuela, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, as part of his visit to Peru.

Mrs. Boluarte welcomed Mr. Gonzalez Urrutia and his wife on the stairways toward the Government Palace. Afterwards, they entered the Ambassadors Room, where they held a meeting.

The Head of State was accompanied by Cabinet Chief Gustavo Adrianzen and Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer on this occasion.

As is known, the President-elect of Venezuela arrived in Peru at the invitation of the Peruvian top official.

During his visit, Mr. Gonzalez Urrutia will engage in a series of activities, including a meeting with the Venezuelan community residing in our country.

Peru has reiterated its firm commitment to promoting and restoring democracy in Venezuela, respecting and protecting human rights, and ensuring a peaceful institutional transition in that nation, which guarantees respect for the popular will expressed in the elections held on July 28, 2024.
