on Friday highlighted the record achieved in inbound tourism last year, with the arrival of 3.2 million international tourists.
"Tourism Record! In 2024, inbound tourism in Peru saw a 29% growth compared to the previous year," he wrote on his social media account.
The government agency also noted that several countries sending tourists to Peru have surpassed pre-pandemic levels.
Bolivia (0.1%), Costa Rica (15.3%), Poland (20.4%), the Dominican Republic (46.2%), Guatemala (38.4%), and India (14.2%), among others, stood out in this sense.
In terms of regional blocs, South America led in tourist arrivals, accounting for 51.6% of the total with 1,678,963 international tourists. It was followed by North America, with 24% (783,000 tourists), Europe 16.6% (540,000 tourists), and Asia 4% (129,000 tourists).
